We recently had the chance to ask Nashville-based pop artist, Caroline Kole a series of questions about her music and her future projects. Continue reading to find out more about it.
Hi Caroline. How are you? How has your week been?
Great! Just getting back from LA and I’m freeeeezing!
Tell us about your recent collaborations for “Right now” and “BTDT”
BTDT (stands for Been There Done That) was a collaboration with Pusher, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the love it’s getting! We’ve gotten on some big playlists, made a music video (Pusher flew to Nashville to film it with me!!!!! WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN’T WE HAD SO MUCH FUN MAKING IT!!!), and I’ve even gotten to sing that song with him live in New York and LA!
Right Now is in the Top 10 on SiriusXMs BPM Top 20 which is AMAZING! The VAVO guys had a vision for that song, and it’s going crazy places- The Chainsmokers and R3HAB have posted about it, it’s climbing up the Dance chart on Mediabase, and my sister sent me a video of her and her friends jamming to it in her dorm room so that’s always a major win when you get the little sister’s approval.
What was your favorite part about filming the “BTDT” music video?
All of the aesthetics! I loved how the director and crew paid attention to every little detail- in the pink room the spaghetti sauce and cheese were pink, in the orange room the flowers, the goldfish, the ping pong balls all orange, the blue room all blue! There was a point where the art director asked if we wanted the popcorn to be blue or if we should keep it edible ha! All of Pusher’s costumes and willingness to get a little silly really tied every scene together and working with the Lux Collective team was just a blast.
Will you be releasing an album soon? What can we expect from it?
I’m just going to say you can be expecting lots of new music in the new year 🙂 starting as early as January even!
You recently announced that you’ll be performing with Kim Petras, Lauv, Why Don’t We, Dan + Shay and Jake Miller for the Live. Life. Love event. What’s it like to be part of that?
An incredible honor to say the least. There were almost 3,000 submissions of names of talented people in Nashville, some I’m friends with and some I’m fans of, so to be chosen to represent the Nashville music community is a dream and a big responsibility that I don’t take lightly! I’m so happy all of the major acts on the lineup are also performing to benefit To Write Love On Her Arms- it’s going to be a very special night, no doubt!
What’s the best advice you’ve been given in your career?
If you’re not 5 minutes early, you’re late!
Are there any new artists you recommend we check out?
I’m really loving Tove Stryke, Russ, Cautious Clay, Clara Mae, VÉRITÉ, and MUNA right now! If you’re not familiar, check them out!
How do you spend your spare time?
Scrolling on Instagram and doing homework! I’m still a full time college student, so juggling that with a full time music schedule is always interesting ha!
Have you something to add for your fans?
THANK YOU!!!!! I’m so overcome with gratitude all the time. Thank you for your continuous support of me and my music, it’s a journey and we’re taking it one step at a time! I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together but am loving every moment we’re in now!
