Released in 2017 along with another song “OMG”, “Havana” was Camila’s breakthrough solo hit. The song talks about a special romantic relationship she once had with someone in Cuba.
“Havana” won several accolades including three American Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards and a VMA for Song of the Year.
Written by Charli XCX, Ali Tamposi and Clean Bandit’s Jack Patterson, the smooth Latin love song is a collaboration with Shawn Mendes.
Shawn and Camila previously collaborated on the 2015 hit “I know what you did last summer”.
“Señorita” provided Cabello her second number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
3. Never be the same
Taken from Camila’s debut album, “Never be the same” was written by Cabello and five other songwriters, including Noonie Bao, Sasha Yatchenko, Leo Dawod, Ludwig Olofsson and Canadian songwriter and music producer Frank Dukes.
According to the singer, the song was the easiest song she had ever written and that it took her only just an hour to write it.
The music video was filmed in London and directed by Grant Singer, best known for working with artists such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd.
4. This love
One of the fan-favorite track is “This love”, a slow burning ballad which finds Camila entangled in a toxic relationship. It’s taken from the Cuban-American artist’s second album “Romance”.
5. First man
This emotional ballad is a tribute to Camila’s father Alejandro, who was born in Mexico and moved to Cuba, where the singer was born.
Produced by Billie Eilish’s brother Finneas, the track was the first song Camila penned for the “Romance” album.
It was performed at 2020 Grammy Awards.
